IEC62368 and IEC60601 temperature rise test shell temperature limit differences
The difference between the temperature rise test of IEC62368-1 and IEC60601-1 is mainly reflected in the temperature rise limit of the accessible parts (outer surface of the housing) :
1) IEC 62368-1 defines the temperature rise limit of contactable parts under different levels of thermal energy sources (TS1, TS2 and TS3) according to different contact times, requiring less than 77 degrees at room temperature, and the specific requirements are as follows:
2) IEC60601-1 needs to determine the limit requirements according to the contact time with the product during use. If the contact time is defined to be less than 1 second, the temperature of the shell under the operating temperature is required to be less than 86 degrees. If the contact time is defined to be more than 1 second and less than 10 seconds, the temperature of the shell under the operating temperature is required to be less than 71 degrees.
